Merry Christmas from the Stager Family

Merry Christmas! We had our turkey dinner Christmas Eve and it was delicious! We have enjoyed all of the family time and certainly feel loved. We are enjoying our first christmas all together that is for sure.

I can't believe that just one year ago this was me (and Grandpa Stew)
And this is me now with our beautiful little girl.
I have an overwhelming feeling this year that I am so thankful for all the family, friends and love we have surrounding us. We are so lucky and blessed. Thank you to everyone because if you are reading this blog, you certainly play a part in this feeling.

We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and all the best in 2012!

Look who's walking now...

So, Isabelle started walking! It happened during our chaotic life and we had to double check with each other if this was the first time it had happened. Isabelle had taken a couple of steps but nothing we considered walking as she wasn't brave enough to try it out for long. I went away for a girls weekend on the 12th and Nana and Grandpa K came to visit. They helped get Isabelle's confidence up and left on Sunday. On Monday when I was with the kids on my own, Isabelle started walking! I called Chad and asked, 'was Isabelle walking this weekend and you forgot to tell me?' He said, 'no, is she walking now? She was still hanging onto furniture last night'. We have been anticipating this for a few weeks now and almost missed it when it happened. She's growing up so quickly. You probably see why the blog has been neglected now, no rest for us in this house!

Happy Halloween!

Hello! I know I have a ton of posts to catch up on but I thought I would at least start today with sharing our Halloween photos. We had Superman and a flower this year...

(FYI, that bowl was for the kids coming to the door...)
We are doing well, moving right along. Isabelle is taking a step and then she laughs so she's super close to walking. Kayden is loving preschool and I just can't believe November is tomorrow!

I will try and update you on what's keeping us busy soon enough but please know we think of everyone often and send love and hugs your way!

Watching Kayden having all the fun...

At the Beach...

Us in White Rock visiting Memere. Kayden loves walking through the puddles at low tide. He's covering his ears because there's a train coming.

This and That

Kayden and Chad had the opportunity to go to a football game. Although it was a near miss (due to a tantrum... Kayden wanted to go to a park instead and then changed his mind), they both had fun. Calgary did not do so well so we will leave it at that.
Isabelle is 8 months old now. She is crawling and often can be found giggling while she does it. I'm pretty sure she is plotting her escape. She also enjoys nodding her head, saying Mama, Dada and Yeah although I'm not positive she knows what it all means. She is climbing which also means she is falling so I have my hands full and sleep very well these days.
Memere is visiting right now, everyone in the house is excited and has been keeping her busy.
Kayden is getting the hang of being a big brother. He is now going to pre-school two two-hour sessions a week. He loves it and likes 'playing with the kids'. He has an amazing memory for anything that has letters on it. I'll have to research what careers use the alphabet and buttons because he will excel at that job.
Grandpa Stew was in town too! We have been so lucky with all the visits. We went on an adventure downtown with Grandpa and went to the Calgary Tower.
Isabelle has lots of smiles for Grandpa Stew

A Dog's Life

Every once in a while, this blog has to focus on the dogs as they really are a part of the family. Now, they have had a rough summer...
Suntanning (that's Lorelei soaking up the rays)
Taking care of Isabelle. Being used to steady herself.
Okay, maybe not so fun... better find a new spot...
Kayden decided to be a dog for a day. Bogey was being a perfect example.

Oh, I found you Lorelei...

Family Photos

We decided it was time to update our family photo to include Isabelle. The photos turned out great. We have two from the photoshoot to show you and hope to get a couple more. Kayden and Isabelle did pretty well considering we don't do this very often!

Summer Fun

Summer has flown by. I don't even understand how it is the middle of August. We have had a lot of fun though and I will do my best to summarize for you what has been keeping us busy.

Isabelle is doing just great. It's hard to believe she just joined this family 7 and a half months ago but she fits right in. Her eyes seem to be staying steady at what can best be described as a blue hazel. I think she will be lucky enough to have eyes that change between blue and green depending on what she wears.
At the beginning of this week Isabelle and I headed out to Canmore with Lisa and Henry, Carol and Evan. Henry is to the left of Isabelle and Evan is to the right. They are all within two months of each other in age sitting in their birth order actually with Evan being the oldest. Lisa and Carol and their families are close friends and it's just great to see these little ones grow together. It was fun and the babies behaved so well for us. It was a great little escape while Chad and Kayden went to Cranbrook to visit with Nana and Grandpa K.
Isabelle is thinking about crawling. She's done a few crawls but keeps wanting to plant her feet on the ground and go straight to walking... uh oh...
Ali and I took the children out to Calaway Park a couple of weeks back. We had so much fun and took turns on the rides with the toddlers.
The cousins, Isabelle pulling a little bit of Molly's hair
Having a heart to heart.
Having some yummy ice cream (with jackets on as it was a pretty cold day)
Ali braving the log ride... thankfully I got out of this one!
Kayden at the Zoo. This structure is just outside the zoo and is a Camel with Kayden sitting between the Camel humps.
Isabelle is starting to eat a variety of foods. We start off all pretty and easy going.
And eventually end up like this. The yogurt on her forehead was me. It's tricky to feed a moving target! We are getting better at this though.
Isabelle is 7 months old already! She is sitting up so strong now and tries talking, a lot. It's adorable to listen to and I will have to try and get one of her speeches on video.
It was my birthday at the beginning of the month and so we celebrated with some dress up.

I got a haircut after 9 months of no haircut.
There is so much more but that gives you a quick look at some of the craziness keeping us busy in the Stager household. I hope to add some more pictures soon!

Summer in Cowtown

Calgary has been lucky enough to be experiencing a lot of beautiful weather lately. This past week was quite hot so the kiddie pool came out and we had a tough day by the pool.
This picture shows why we call Isabelle 'Cheeks'
Bogey loving every minute of it
Lorelei too!
On Canada Day we decided to celebrate at Heritage Park. We all took a ride on the S.S. Moyie Boat.

Isabelle is 6 months old now!

Kayden enjoying the waterpark in Calgary
Random cuteness: He decided that his toys had to line up and look outside the window
We are off to the Stampede tomorrow so I do hope to update the blog with our adventures...
